Honda’s new Jazz range which is expected to go on sale here before the middle of the year will include a hybrid version.

Honda New Zealand says the new model is “the biggest change to the Jazz since the first generation launched in 2002.”

Details of the specification, line-up and pricing will be released closer to the launch of the new car, expected to be in the second quarter of 2021.

In line with Honda’s global commitment to sequentially evolve Honda e:Technology to electrify two-thirds of its cars by 2030, an electrified variant of the Jazz (e:HEV powertrain), will be available.

The e:HEV features Honda’s two-motor hybrid system that combines a high-efficiency petrol motor with a high-output electric motor.

The new Jazz has won the 2020-2021 Japan Automobile Hall of Fame Car of the Year award.
